| Concrete Unit | The building runs along an incline leading to the Danube River and has clearly defined zones. All of the major living rooms, including the kitchen, are oriented towards the river and accentuate the view to the water as well as to the Oberhaus Castle, where the Danube and the Ilz Rivers merge. Secondary rooms are located on the uphill side of the house, towards the street.
Both the inner and outer elevations of the house reveal generous surfaces of exposed concrete alternating with room-high window elements. Use of prefabricated concrete elements with an insulation core allowed for a short construction time. The building makes use of solar collectors and pellet heating as well as a rainwater storage system for watering the garden.
